After all of our bad luck during the travel day, the racing actually went well for me. I FINALLY FINISHED A SLALOM RACE. After not finishing five slalom races I was finally able to pull it together and I finished both slalom races at Devils Glen.
The first day I didn't ski to well. The first run I was skiing very timidly which is a bit frustrating. The second run of the day, I did ski better but still made the mistakes I have been making all year round which kind of sucks but the best part of the day was that I finished the race. I finished 23 and scored 109.63 points. Even with bad skiing I scored well which kept me very optimistic for day two. Day two is skied more aggressively in the first run and put myself in a better position for second run but it is still very frustrating knowing that I made many mistake the whole way down the course that costed me a lot of time. Second run I was okay. I held on to it and managed to finish 16th, scoring 102.66 points which is an improvement from the first day but still not where I want to be.
The third and forth day of racing took place at Georgian Peaks. They were both GS races and frankly they went pretty well for me. First run on the first day I fell on the main pitch. I was okay and happy we got the crash on video but kinda pissed I didn't finish. It is a funny video and the only benefit from falling was that I was not scared or hurt afterwards. one of my biggest challenges in skiing is not on the technical side of things. especially in GS it is being able to trust myself. After I fell the only thing i wanted to do was race that run again. And on the second day that is exactly what I did. The weather was horrible. They decided to race the boys back to back runs with the idea of cancelling the girls because the snow and wind was just to much to keep the race going but after three hours of having no idea what was happening they finally finished the boys race and decided to race the girls. Even with the confusing and always changing plans and horrible weather I managed to ski two decent runs. I ended up placing 12th and scored 93.85 points which means I am now in the double digits for points which is GREAT!

After those four days of racing I was really excited to drive to Bromont, Qc for another four races, the third super series of the season.
Stay tuned to see how those races went !
Love and Happiness
